I believe happiness is the most important thing in life – it’s what we’re all after.
And that includes happiness at work. It shouldn’t be thought of as ‘nice to have’. Instead, happiness at work should be considered essential.
Why? Because happiness empowers people to understand that they’re responsible for themselves, that they can choose how to think and feel.
I want everyone to be happy.
Happiness allows people to change the way that their lives are going. It allows them to understand that the power is theirs and within their grasp.
That’s why I’m particularly passionate about speaking to corporates about happiness, because thousands of people can potentially be helped in one go by a single company making that commitment to their people.
By doing that, they also help their people make that commitment to themselves.
In turn, we help a ton of people in one fell swoop, which is just beautiful.
“Most folks are as happy as they make up their minds to be,” said Abraham Lincoln.
But they may need help on their journey to workplace (and personal) happiness.
That’s where The Happiness Club corporate workshops come in.
We provide the tools and techniques to help staff perform and deliver their best.
A happy workplace is a productive workplace, where workers are more motivated and engaged.
Research by Oxford University found a conclusive link between workplace happiness and productivity.
The study shows workers are 13% more productive when they’re happy. And that’s not because they’re working longer hours.
That’s backed up by another study showing greater employee wellbeing is linked to higher firm performance and lower staff turnover.
There are other benefits to a happy workforce, too. These include increased innovation, fewer burnouts, lower absenteeism, superior customer experience, and better employer reputation.
Also, as employee morale improves and people have greater job satisfaction, individuals are more resilient.
They work better with others and make fewer mistakes.
They’re more optimistic and less likely to leave.
They complain less and solve problems more.
They feel more secure in their role.
Happiness involves looking after our mental health and emotional wellbeing. These facets of our lives have never been so important.
But most people have no idea how to look after their mental health and emotional wellbeing, or how simple it is.
People still hear the term mental health and think it means you have to be seriously ill.
That’s not the case.
There are some really simple ways you can proactively look after your own mental health and emotional wellbeing every day.
Our workshops set you and your business on the right path, helping reduce stress in the workplace and overcome the stigma of mental health.
The result is happier employees who are healthier and take fewer sick days.
Workers don’t get to the point of being ill, overwrought, overstressed, or over-anxious.
They live a happier life.
Your business saves money, too.
In 2019/20, 51% of work-related ill health was the result of work-based stress, depression or anxiety. And 55% of all working days lost was down to work-related ill health.
We need to do something about that.
